MCB has decided to renew its financial support to Team MCB for the 2018 season. Rs 5 million will therefore be provided so as to allow Team MCB to be among the best African teams.

MCB’s support to Mauritian cycling is therefore evolving from an annual budget of Rs 1 million to Rs 5 million. This increase is a pledge of the confidence in the Fédération mauricienne de Cyclisme (FMC), which wants to make Team MCB one of the best teams on the continent. Through this collaboration, MCB aims at being not only a key partner but also a major player in the success and rise of Mauritian cycling on the African continent.

Team MCB’S African quest starts with the Tour de l'Espoir in Cameroon where Jeanlito André, Dylan Redy, Fidzerald Rabaye, Alexander Mayer, Gregory Lagane and Christopher Lagane will kick off the 2018 season. The team will then be traveling to Rwanda for the African Championships, with a delegation of no less than eleven riders, and will, probably move on to the Tour de Tunisie or the Tour du Maroc, before heading to Australia for the Commonwealth Games.

During the month of July, Team MCB will be training in France to prepare for the Tour de La Réunion (August) and the Tour de Maurice (September) where Christopher Lagane and Olivier Le Court will be set to defend their titles.
