MCB Maldives was the partner of one of the main teams of this competition, convinced by the integrity and the dynamism of the players. While doing so, MCB wished to promote this discipline and work in the interest of the badminton players.

MCB has been promoting sports in Maldives since 2015 when it became the sponsor of the Indian Ocean Island Games. Moreover, MCB was the banking partner of the Maldives National Badminton team last year. Badminton indeed holds a particular place in the hearts of Maldivians as this sport has won the first ever medal for the nation in 1979. Moreover, badminton is the N°1 racket sport in Maldives, with and estimated total number of 22,524 players, among which 12,517 players are registered in a badminton club or association.
