MCB is launching various new services aimed at making things even simpler and safer for its customers, in a context where electronic payments are fast evolving.

During the last years, the payment landscape has undergone a major evolution. This has also resulted in changes in the behaviour of bank customers. Nowadays, electronic payments and mobile banking have greatly evolved. In this global backdrop and local context, MCB is launching various new services aimed at making things even simpler and safer for its customers.

In order to allow our customers to save time when shopping, avoid manipulating their card, and to facilitate their daily life, MCB is introducing a new service, “Touch & Pay”. This contactless payment will be available to all MCB Mastercard debit cardholders and will apply to purchases of up to Rs 500, with a daily cumulative limit of Rs 1,000.

During a Touch & Pay transaction, a cardholder simply needs to touch the point of sale (POS) machine with the debit card in order to authorise a transaction. Paying will therefore become even more simple and quick, while also being secure as there are no risks that a payment be billed twice.

To start off, Touch & Pay will be available in all KFC outlets as from 15th January 2018. The service will subsequently be rolled out to other merchants and partners throughout the country.

Since its operational launch in 2013, up to last September, nearly 150,000 MCB customers have registered to Juice and downloaded the app. And, as at date, about 1,200 merchants have integrated the Juice commercial network, therefore allowing customers to pay for purchases via with their mobile phone. Well aware of the growing expectations of customers, and true to its proactive policy, Juice has undertaken a facelift.

Users will soon discover the revamped Juice interface which has been completely redesigned so as to increase user-friendliness and ensure an even smoother navigation. Juice already came with various options including payment options, transfer features, cardless ATM withdrawals, refills and access to users’ Paypal account, amongst others. Juice will henceforth also include additional options such as the fingerprint login and the modification of the daily fund transfer limit.

Juice subscribers will also be able to pay via QR code. They will simply need to scan the code displayed by participating merchants, to insert the transaction amount and select the account to be debited, and then authorise the transaction.
