A brand new 4-minute Science contest for secondary schools

Secondary schools of the island are invited to participate in the “4-Minute Science” contest. Spearheaded by the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre and MCB, this competition aims at disseminating scientific information to a wider audience and explain how relevant science is to society at large.. The ultimate goal is to foster creativity and innovation in science, which should be at the core of sustainable development.

Four minutes to win over the jury
 
For this competition, students must showcase their presentations in a video which does not exceed four minutes. Participants will be judged on the relevance of the title, a captivating introduction, a good mastery of the subject and a consistent conclusion, amongst others.
 
Two categories
 
The contest is open to secondary school students of Mauritius as follows:
• Category 1 : Grade 7, 8 & 9
• Category 2 : Grade 10 & 12
 
MCB prizes to be won!
 
MCB and Rajiv Gandhi, who share a long-standing partnership, mainly through the patronage of competitions such as the Science Quest or the Young Scientists in Action. Once again MCB is pleased to be associated with such an innovative project.
 
Winning teams of each category will receive MCB Rupys prizes, as follows: 
 
The Jury awards:
• First Prize : Rs 15000
• First Runner up : Rs 10000 
• Second Runner up : Rs 5000 
 
Public voting awards:
• First Prize : Rs 6000 
• First Runner Up : Rs 5000 
• Second Runner Up : Rs 4000
 
All participants and their supervising educators will also receive a certificate of participation.
