Various stakeholders had the opportunity to share views during a symposium held at MCB St Jean on Wednesday 12th April, on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the OHADA (Organisation pour l'Harmonisation en Afrique du Droit des Affaires) Treaty.

The symposium was organised by MCB in collaboration with Association du Diplôme d'Université de Droit International Economique en Afrique (ADIEA), Panthéon-Assas University in Paris and Jeantet Law Firm.

OHADA law aims at legal stability in Africa, and the African legal landscape was one of the first topics. A particular focus was on the hierarchy of norms between various legal documents and the legal arguments validating the application of OHADA law over other regional texts ratified by member states. The regulatory framework in favor of economic activity and judicial stability in businesses, as well as prospects for the development of OHADA law, were also discussed.
