Partnership with Made in Moris: Five years on

Jun 3, 2019, 07:00 AM by User Not Found
“If Mauritius wants to accede to high-income economy status, it has no choice but to help the local economy grow”, said MCB’s Deputy CEO, Raoul Gufflet at the celebrations marking the five years since the creation of the ‘Made in Moris’ label.

Five years ago, when MCB partnered with the Association of Mauritian Manufacturers to create the label, ‘Made in Moris’ was comprised of 11 companies. Today, over 85 businesses have joined the club, among which medium ones, small and even very small ones.

The decision to back local enterprise was no a no-brainer; MCB has throughout its history, supported local companies because it made economic sense. But now, more than ever, MCB believes the country’s prosperity lies in developing a local, dynamic and inclusive economy where small and medium enterprises are given the support they need to prosper.
