InterTen Cup 2024: Anahita reigns on its turf

The 2024 edition of the InterTen Cup, a golf competition that brings together the staff of all golf clubs in the Mauritius golfing ecosystem, was held on Thursday, 12 September, at the Anahita Golf course. This competition is an MCB Group initiative of the to unite the great golf family of in Mauritius around a fun event. This year's competition, which featured no less than twelve teams, saw the host team, Anahita win the Gross Award, ending the Legends' supremacy of the penultimate edition of the tournament. The winning team comprised Amit Sewdhone, Tristan Freslon (Golf Director), Pierre-Noël Quirin (Team leader) and Rakesh Dourgah.

Record participation

This year, no fewer than twelve teams battled on the Anahita green. They are: The Paradis Golf Club, Avalon Golf Club, Legends Golf Club, Links Golf Club, Anahita Golf Club, Mont Choisy Le Golf Club, Le Château Héritage Golf Club, La Réserve Héritage Golf Club, Tamarina Golf Club, Gymkhana Golf Club, Azuri Golf Club and the Dodo Golf Club. This record attendance demonstrates that the golf club community in the country appreciates the event. While Anahita won in Gross, the Tamarina team won in net..

The spirit of the past inter-colleges

Pierre-Noël Quirin, a member of the winning team, expressed his joy at having participated in such an event: "This is a tournament which brings out the spirit of the old inter-colleges. It's a great event, very well organised. I'm very proud to have been part of it," he said.

Amit Sewdhone, also part of the winning team, shares the same feeling about the competition: "This competition is a source of pride for us as players in golf in Mauritius, and I thank the MCB for this beautiful tournament," he said.

Hussein Cassam Sulliman, Mid-Market Enterprise Manager at MCB and a key player in the organisation: "MCB cares about this competition because it brings together the players of the great golf family in Mauritius. We sometimes tend to forget this, but this ecosystem, including the Caddies, the Green Keepers, and all the clubs' employees, helped put Mauritius on the golf tourism map. It’s their day, and I want to congratulate the winning team and all those who made it memorable."
